It may be an ugly little bastard, but it makes a marvellous noise, and gives us hope.

what a full dam looks like!

After almost 100mm rain in a week, following dam-filling rains a months ago, our dams are officially full. Bottom dam is receiving overflow from the top dam and spilling into culvert beside road. Wondering how long it will last ...

The back dam (over the back fence) is full and flowing down the overflow channel into our top dam.




Here, an ant nest, built high above water level, is now submerged.



The water has risen right up beside the drive over the causeway, only about 18 inches below, where sizable wirilda and cassinia had established themselves up the deep bank .


That one, in turn, is full and flowing down the channel under the causeway and across the grass and down into the bottom dam.



And that one, in turn, where the bank is lowest between two willows, is spilling into the channel beside the road.

A rough effort, but will try to post some video of actual running water ...
