Successfully dried and lightly toasted pumpkin seeds following the method discovered a couple of months ago. So simple, I'm kicking myself for only discovering this now. A great way to make use of something usually discarded, a free version of something I usually buy, tastier - if I say so myself!
Followed recipe exactly, exactly once! Now ready to diverge. So did a second lot with briefer sun-drying. Worked just as well.
Next step: some research and a controlled experiment to compare pumpkin varieties. So far have used jap and blue, but jumbled in together.
Also might try some additional flavourings, perhaps my favourite spice - pumpkin seeds with smoked paprika anyone?
So an effective new preserving/storing technique to add to my repertoire.
That these are a healthy, iron-rich food is a blessing too.
